Final Report

     This report covers the the structural redesign of Flats on Fifth in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A light gauge steel system has been implemented, replacing wood construction, at the residential levels of the building. The existing column grid of the podium have been rearranged to produce smaller member sizes. Lateral systems have been redesigned as masonry shear walls for new lateral loads.Included also is a brief discussion of an economic and acoustic breadth study.
